El Instituto Colombo-Alemán para la Paz – CAPAZ, la Jurisdicción Especial para la Paz de Colombia (JEP) y el Instituto de Estudios Sociales (ISS), asociado a la Universidad Erasmus Rotterdam en los Países Bajos se han unido para organizar la Conferencia Internacional: “La JEP como un nuevo modelo de Justicia Transicional: lecciones aprendidas para el futuro de la Justicia Transicional” (“The JEP as a new model of Transitional Justice: Lessons learned for the future of Transitional Justice”), que tendrá lugar los días 23 y 24 de noviembre de 2023 en la sede del ISS en La Haya. Durante el evento abierto al público, renombradas personalidades internacionales de la academia y la investigación, así como representantes de la JEP y la Corte Penal Internacional (ICC) se darán cita en la sesión inaugural con la participación del Presidente de la JEP, Magistrado Roberto Carlos Vidal, los siete paneles de discusión y la sesión de networking para entablar con las y los asistentes un diálogo internacional en torno a los avances y las innovaciones sobre cómo lidiar con el pasado desde la JEP, institución de la justicia transicional creada a partir de la firma del Acuerdo Final de 2016 en Colombia. Asimismo, se espera que la reflexión académica, institucional y social a la que motiva este encuentro esté encaminada a revisar y tener en cuenta los retos y las oportunidades en el desarrollo futuro de la justicia transicional en Colombia y otros escenarios mundiales. La Conferencia Internacional es posible gracias a la financiación del Ministerio Federal de Relaciones Exteriores de la República de Alemania.

The German-Colombian Peace Institute – Instituto CAPAZ, the Special Jurisdiction for Peace in Colombia (Jurisdicción Especial para la Paz-JEP) and the Institute for Social Studies (ISS), part of the Erasmus University Rotterdam in The Netherlands, are pleased to announce the International Conference: «The JEP as a new model of Transitional Justice: Lessons learned for the future of Transitional Justice», which will take place on 23 and 24 November 2023 at the ISS in The Hague. The conference will be opened by the President of the JEP, Judge Roberto Carlos Vidal.

Renowned international academics, representatives of the JEP and the International Criminal Court (ICC) will discuss with the audience in the seven panel discussions and a networking session the progress and innovation in the JEP’s judicial dealing with the past. The international dialogue will also serve to shed light on the challenges and prospects for the future development of transitional justice in Colombia and other global scenarios. The conference is funded by the German Federal Foreign Office.
