14. COLOMBIA: COLOMBIACONNECT’S SUSTAINABLE CHALLENGE PODCAST IS NOW ON AIR
Colombia is the most megadiverse country in the world per square kilometer. But this biodiversity coexists with major social problems: armed conflict, poverty, inequality, drug trafficking, and other forms of violence. How can we think about sustainability when we face these challenges? Colombia, Desafío Sostenible is a ColombiaCONNECT podcast in which we will review from new and varied points of view the challenges we must face if we want to think about the welfare that biological resources can provide us. This is a space in which to discover opportunities for change.
Colombia has faced enormous challenges in managing its territory. Armed conflict, poverty, and inequality add a first layer of complexity to the country’s exuberant biodiversity, which implies great difficulties in making protection and investment decisions that are, in turn, determined by the development model. What conditions should we consider in order to face the challenges of this context? We talk about this in our first episode with Brigitte Baptiste, president of Universidad EAN and a leading figure in the world of sustainability.
We invite you to listen to this podcast produced by our colleagues from ColombiaCONNECT, a knowledge exchange network of which CAPAZ is a member.
