Workshop on reporting to JEP and CEV

The workshop “Diálogo con universidades sobre presentación de informes ante la Jurisdicción Especial para la Paz (JEP) y la Comisión de la Verdad (CEV)”, will take place on 3 and 4 October, 2019 at Universidad Pontificia Bolivariana (UPB) in Bogotá.
It is part of the activities within the project “Stabilization of Peace in Colombia through Justice and Truth”, carried out by the German-Colombian Peace Institute (CAPAZ), the Centre for the Study of Latin American Criminal Law and Criminal Procedure (CEDPAL) at University of Göttingen, the Special Jurisdiction for Peace (JEP) and the Commission for the Clarification of the Truth (CEV).
The project will -based within academia- support the work of the institutions of the Colombian Integrated System of Truth, Justice, Reparation and Non-Repetition.
Taking that into account, one of the first steps towards this goal is to facilitate a workshop addressed to teachers from the associate members of CAPAZ. Collaborators and Magistrates at JEP and CEV will train them in reporting to JEP and CEV. The participants are expected to be able to support and advise victims and humans rights organizations working in their territories and also willing to work along with the JEP and the CEV.
This workshop will be addressed to teachers from universities associated to CAPAZ outside Bogota, specially from regions that have been most affected by the armed conflict. It is expected to repeat this workshop in December, 2019 with participants from associate universities located in Bogota.
