“The Peace Process at the Crossroads”: Stefan Peters
In his most recent article “Der Friedensprozess am Scheideweg” (The Peace Process at the Crossroads), published in the newspaper of the German Council for Culture Politik & Kultur, Prof. Dr. Stefan Peters refers to the perspectives of the Final Agreement and its implementation in the recently elected government of President Iván Duque.
The Academic Director of the CAPAZ Institute explains how the peace process and the agreements signed in Havanna between the government of Juan Manuel Santos and the FARC-EP guerrilla group show, on the one hand, notable progress and interest in the area of peace research and, on the other hand, challenges that widespread discontent with what has been achieved so far.
President Iván Duque will have to show courage from now on to realize the points of the Final Agreement that are uncertain for the success of its future implementation.
