«Thinking outside the box»: Stefan Peters’ opinion column in Revista Semana

CAPAZ Academic Director and Professor of Peace Studies at Justus Liebig University, Giessen, Prof. Dr. Stefan Peters published his opinion column in Revista Semana on the social and economic effects of COVID-19 in Colombia, on April 2, 2020.
Prof. Peters appeals to the most privileged sectors of Colombian society:
“An exceptional effort is required to counteract the social consequences of the struggle against COVID-19. To achieve this, the heavyweights of society –the elites— must do their part. It is, in fact, in their own best interest as well. COVID-19 seems to be the great levelling agent: it reminds us all that we live in a society and that we have to find a common solution. We can’t just run away and wait until the pandemic passes; the gates to all flights to Miami, New York, Paris or Frankfurt have been closed”.
