“Paz en construcción”: A recent contribution by Angelika Rettberg on the peace process

Angelika Rettberg, Professor at the Department of Political Science at Universidad de los Andes and its representative at the CAPAZ Institute analyses the situation in Colombia three years after the signing of the Final Agreement between the government and FARC-EP.
What is the state of peace in Colombia and what are the prognoses? How do the representatives of the FARC party and the current government behave in this scenario? What about the institutions created as a result of the Final Agreement?
In her concluding lines, Rettberg states: “It is no consolation, but it is important to say that no peace agreement has been implemented to the letter. However, rather than a justification for non-compliance, this should serve as a reminder that the implementation process consists of a new negotiation-following-the-negotiation”.
