“Operation Colombia or the Myth of Casa Verde”: A talk by Dario Villamizar at the seminar on violence and conflict in Latin America
The international seminar on the history and memory of violence and conflicts in Latin America will continue through September 2020. The first lecture of this month will be given by Colombian political analyst and researcher Darío Villamizar, under the title: “Operation Colombia or the Myth of Casa Verde”. Darío Villamizar has a recognised academic career, which has resulted in his research and publications on issues related to the Colombian armed conflict and peace, negotiation, and reconciliation processes.

The international seminar is conceived as a space for exchange, reflection, and discussion on different dynamics and forms of violence and conflicts in countries such as Colombia, Mexico, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Peru, Argentina, and Chile. The experts have a proven track record and are well known in the academic world in Latin America and Europe. The lectures will be given online and will continue through to November 2020.
