July 2020 seminar in Göttingen on evidentiary analysis and participation of victims in proceedings before the JEP
The seminar “Evidentiary Analysis and Victim Participation in Proceedings before the Special Peace Jurisdiction (JEP)” will be held at the University of Göttingen, Germany, on Thursday, 16 July 2020, from 2:00 to 4:45 p.m.
The objective of the seminar is to discuss the drafts of two advanced studies on the above-mentioned topics with Colombian experts.
The guest experts are Carlos Castro Cuenca, Yesid Reyes (tbc), Diego Tarapués, Gustavo Emilio Cote Barco, Fernando Velásquez Velásquez, and Hernán Darío Orozco López. The seminar will be led by Prof. Dr. Kai Ambos.
One of the topics on the agenda will be the participation of victims before the JEP, based on the technical study prepared by Juliette Vargas, ECLAC researcher and CAPAZ science consultant, together with researchers Andrea Planchadell and Ana Beltrán.
The event will take place in the context of the project led by the Centre for the Study of Latin American Criminal Law and Criminal Procedure (CEDPAL), attached to the University of Göttingen and CAPAZ, in cooperation with the JEP and the Commission for the Clarification of the Truth (CEV) in Colombia. The project is funded by the German Federal Foreign Office.
