Discussion on the Beutelsbach Consensus on the CAPAZ School of Online Courses Education and Peacebuilding course
Prof. Dr. Bernd Overwien was Professor of Political Didactics at the University of Kassel until 2019 and has served as full professor in the subject at Humboldt University in Berlin since 2021.
In 2008, Prof. Overwien took up the chair of “Didactics of Civic Education” at the University of Kassel. His work focuses on political or civic education for sustainable development and global learning, the linking of informal and formal forms of learning in civic education and, in this context, the cooperation between formal and non-formal education. Bernd Overwien has been a full professor at the Institute of Educational Sciences at Humboldt University Berlin, Department of Sachunterricht und seine Didaktik since October 2021.
Prof. Overwien’s lecture is entitled “The Beutelsbach Consensus as a turning point in political education in Germany” and it will be presented in the framework of the Education and Peacebuilding – challenges and experiences in dialogue, Colombia and Germany course which is part of our CAPAZ School of Online Courses, Prof.
