CONTRIBUTIONS TO THE RESEARCH OF YOUNG RESEARCHERS AT CAPAZ CONFERENCE
The German-Colombian Peace Institute – CAPAZ held its first Conference for Young Researchers on December 3 and 4, 2018 at the Universidad del Rosario, in Bogota, Colombia. Colombian master’s and doctoral students presented their research projects in these relevant issues:
Memory:
- Gender approaches contained in the mandate of the Truth Commission (CEV)
- Policy of Memory
- Collective Memory: the case of community archives
- Forgiveness and reconciliation / The role of memory in reconciliation
- Narrative practices of memory
- Representations of the armed conflict
- Memory of indigenous women and former FARC-Combatants
Transitional Justice:
- Justice and Community Peacebuilding
- Education for Peace as contribution to social transformation
- Community feminism
- Victim´s rights and women’s rights included in the Final Agreement
- Participation of victims in the Special Jurisdiction for Peace (JEP)
- Access to Justice in the context of the armed conflict
- Indigenous Justice and Special Jurisdiction for Peace (JEP)
- International Humanitarian Law from the perspective of the Colombian Armed Forces
Contributions to research
The students received comments from Colombian and international experts in the thematic areas. Recommendations included the refinement of the research design, research questions and methodology, as well as the coherence between these aspects. They invited the young researchers to draw on the work of other colleagues and to share their ideas with colleagues who are developing the same or similar research questions.
