CAPAZ supports citizen dialogue on truth commission report in La Guajira
The second dialogue for the socialization and appropriation of the Legacy of the Truth Commission (CEV) will be held in the city of Riohacha, Guajira, on September 21 and 22: “Weaving Peace Dialogues”, in which the Ethnic and Exile chapters of the CEV report will be addressed. The event is organized in the framework of the CAPAZ-led project “Stabilization of peace in Colombia through justice, truth and protection of human rights”.
To this end, CAPAZ has coordinated efforts with several institutions in the region such as the International Forum of Victims, Returnees – La Guajira chapter; the Wilred Foundation, the Executive Secretariat of the JEP Guajira, the Ombudsman’s Office, the Law Programme and the Master of Social Sciences of the University of La Guajira, the Academy of History of La Guajira, and theSENA.
The event will include the participation of experts such as: Alejandro Quiceno (Former Head of the International Macro of the CEV), Elizabeth Garcia (Global Network Ethnic Peoples and Peace), Arcelia Rosa Escobar Brochero (research team for the direction of territories in the Caribbean Region of the CEV), Stefan Peters (CAPAZ Academic Director), Armando Wouriyu Valbuena (President of the Follow-up and Monitoring Commission Legacy CEV), Juan José Cantillo Pushaina (JEP Magistrate), Nohora Caballero (CEV Ethnic Chapter Researcher), Lizandro Ayola Medina (Wilred Foundation – FIV), Andrea Neira (CAPAZ Institute Scientific Collaborator), Juan Carlos Rocha (University of La Guajira), Auris Pérez Ortíz (SENA) and Ana Turizo Padilla (Mesa Distrital de Victimas Riohacha).
The event will begin with the interventions of the invited specialists, followed by an exchange of ideas, and close with cultural and artistic exhibitions.
