CAPAZ participates in Conference on violence and conflict resolutions in Latin America
From 11th to 13th January 2019 will take place at Evangelische Akademie in Hofgeismar, Germany the Conference “Violence and sustainable solutions to conflicts in Latin America” (Gewalt und nachhaltige Konfliktlösungen in Lateinamerika).
The event will be attended by Hans-Peter Knudsen Quevedo, Colombian Ambassador in Germany; Danuta Sacher, Director of the Latin America Section of Bread for the World (Brot für die Welt) and the German politician Tom Koenigs (Bündnis 90/Die Grünen). They will talk on Saturday, January 12, 2019 about the peace process in Colombia with Prof. Dr. Stefan Peters, Academic Director of the CAPAZ Institute and Professor for Peace Studies at Justus Liebig University Giessen (JLU).
During the Conference, researchers, politicians and representatives from religious and civil organizations will discuss possible solutions to the different dimensions of violence in Latin America, from a political, cultural and developmental perspective, with special attention to the cases of Colombia and Mexico.
To attend all sessions, it is required to contact to the organization. The participation in the panel on the Colombian peace process is free of charge.
The Conference is organized by Evangelische Akademie Hofgeismar, in cooperation with the German-Colombian Peace Institute – CAPAZ and the Center for Latin American Studies of the University of Kassel (CELA).
