CAPAZ hosts Vice Chancellor Robert Habeck and Minister Of Agriculture Cem Özdemir in Bogotá
On one of the stops on their trip to Brazil and Colombia, German Ministers Robert Habeck (Vice Chancellor and Minister of Economy) and Cem Özdemir (Agriculture) visited the CAPAZ offices in Bogota. The ministers were received in the Claustro de San Agustín rooms belonging to Universidad Nacional de Colombia by the CAPAZ team and toured the permanent exhibition “El Testigo” (The Witness) by Colombian photographer Jesús Abad Colorado.
The ministers and their delegations had the opportunity to learn more about the Colombian armed conflict. After the guided tour, they participated in a series of roundtables and exchanges with civil society representatives to discuss the impacts of the conflict on the environment.
Prof. Peters explains in the press release, that during the visit, in which we were also joined by the German Ambassador to Colombia, Marian Schuegraf, Ministers Habeck and Özdemir were able to understand that “peace, sustainable socio-economic development, environmental and climate protection, as well as the promotion of democracy and human rights should not be considered in isolation, but should be understood and addressed in their mutual interconnectedness”.
