Each of the universities will have a spokesperson who will represent them on the CAPAZ Board of Directors, as listed below:
- Universidad Católica de Pereira: Prof. Luis Adolfo Martínez Herrera
“Universidad Católica de Pereira is looking forward to joining CAPAZ in the hope of contributing to regional research processes and is certain that we can learn from other academic and social instances that integrate the Institute, thus strengthening the work in a paradigmatic area such as the coffee-growing region”.

Andrés Camilo Pinilla is a sociologist and specialist in agrarian law. His areas of research are related to rural issues, and their relationship with the armed conflict, human rights, and public policies.
“The main contribution Universidad de la Amazonia can make to the CAPAZ network is its knowledge of the region, its relationship with the communities and social organisations, and its trust with public and private entities in the Amazon, which allows it to produce new research from a territorial perspective, but also to strengthen the research that is already being carried out. Universidad de la Amazonia can also contribute its 40 years of experience to the Colombian Amazon region, a strategic region for the country and the world, with important ecosystemic functions and unparalleled environmental diversity”.
