Call for applications: Alfredo Molano Bravo professorship – CAPAZ 2022
CAPAZ is pleased to invite professors and researchers from its partner universities (founding and associate members) to submit applications for training activities within the framework of the Alfredo Molano Bravo Chair, promoted by the Commission for the Clarification of Truth, Coexistence and Non-Repetition (CEV) and the Alfredo Molano Bravo Foundation, with support from CAPAZ.

The Alfredo Molano Bravo Chair is an initiative designed to strengthen the social appropriation of the legacy of the CEV and the work of Alfredo Molano, promoting proposals that bring together academia and civil society, communities, and other local actors. Alfredo Molano Bravo, who was part of the plenary of commissioners, helped build the Commission’s methodology: Listen, recognize, and understand in order to transform. In this respect, we strive to keep Molano’s teachings alive, as a contribution to the pursuit of peace for Colombia, through actions based within academia and through multiple and diverse channels. These amplify the voices and truths of the deep Colombia together with the legacy of the Truth Commission, so that they can reach everyone in the cities and in the countryside. Goal
Promote cooperation between academia, civil society, communities and other local actors in the appropriation of the legacy of the CEV and the work of Alfredo Molano through training offers to include university students and other social actors.
Target audience
Professors and researchers from CAPAZ partner universities that promote cooperative relationships between academia and civil society, communities, and other local actors around the legacy of the CEV.
Lines of operation
Funding will be provided for training activities that fall within one of the following three lines of operation:
- Lectures on the legacy of the CEV
In this line, financing goes to university chairs or lecture series with the participation of academics, members of the CEV, civil society actors, communities and other actors. These focus on different aspects of the legacy of the CEV and target an audience that includes university students and society in general.
- Local summer schools
In this line, funding is provided for lectures given in the form of short summer schools (3-5 days) that offer opportunities for discussion and reflection on specific aspects of the legacy of the CEV and are aimed at an audience that includes university students and society in general.
- Teaching-research courses
In this line, we finance university teaching-research courses that explore the legacy of the CEV —for example, some of its findings— in cooperation with civil society, communities, and other legal actors, through participatory methodologies.
