The economy during the pandemic in El Cauca: Part 2 of the episode with Axel Rojas
The online video-column “La paz, ahora más que nunca” (Peace – Now more than ever) presents the last part of its second episode with Axel Rojas, professor at Universidad del Cauca.
This second part is called: “Production and the economy during the pandemic – El Cauca”. Professor Rojas reviews the productive, social, and economic dynamics in El Cauca during the COVID-19 health crisis. He also explains the effects of the measures taken in response to this crisis on agricultural, mining and extractive activities in rural Cauca.
This episode raises the following, and other, questions: Is there still a centralist and urban focus in the management of the health crisis? How are the government, the armed actors and the communities in El Cauca responding to the economic issues?.
“La paz, ahora más que nunca” is a CAPAZ online video-column that features experts’ comments on the different realities of peace implementation in Colombia during the COVID-19 pandemic.
CAPAZ publishes a new episode every Tuesday through its Instagram accounts @instituto_capaz and YouTube: Instituto CAPAZ
