Ginna Rivera Rodríguez is a student at Universidad de los Andes and researches the intersection between transitional justice and indigenous justice. She emphasises the interdisciplinary approach of the event and that it “shifts us away from the capital [Bogotá], so that we can learn about the research experiences of other colleagues from other regions”.
Natalia Maya Llano is a student in the last semester of the Master’s Degree in Political Science at Universidad de Antioquia. Besides giving us the opportunity to exchange research, the conference also offers us the opportunity, as students, “to have other people read us, other people comment on us, other people make suggestions, and offer constructive criticism“.
Tatiana Botero, is a student on the Master’s Degree in Social Justice and Peacebuilding at Universidad de Caldas and is currently conducting research on the capacities of local organisations in the municipality of Samaná, in Caldas. “I believe that this is an opportunity that allows us to grow as researchers and be able to learn about what is being done in terms of other proposals in the country”.
Finally, Gabriel Ruíz, social anthropologist researcher explains the thematic axis that he coordinated, on local memories and national narratives, in an attempt to try to understand the violence experienced by a community.
