The Truth Commission and the Mobile Academy of Berlin present the clandestine market of knowledge and useful non-knowledge No. 22 entitled “Of amphibious cultures, container ports and liquid tombs: Colombian stories about water“, which will be held on Saturday 23 November 2019 at the Teatro Faenza in Bogotá (Calle 22 #5-56).

This is an artistic project implemented for the Truth Commission of the Mobile Academy of Berlin, organised by Mapa Teatro in cooperation with the Goethe-Institut and Universidad Central, and supported by CAPAZ and Banco de la República. Funded by the Federal Foreign Office of the Federal Republic of Germany and the Goethe-Institut.
What is it?
The clandestine market of knowledge and useful non-knowledge is an artistic project that uses surprising ways to explore and present dialogue, creating an artistic resonance with the work of the Truth Commission, which seeks to imagine a future society. It is not a panel, nor are there lectures: if you are interested in understanding complex issues that are presented in different ways, then you have come to the right place! Welcome to the great murmur.
The Berlin Mobile Academy is a group of artists, scientists and architects who have organised clandestine markets since 2004. After touring the world, clandestine market No. 22 arrives in South America for the first time at the invitation of the Truth Commission. It brings together sixty experts from different parts of the country to talk about water. These stories reflect the conflicts, their past and present, involving the waters of Colombia: rivers, wetlands, lagoons, oceans and sewers.
From these stories emerges a Colombian hydrology of the past, present and future. It compiles the experience and situated knowledge of the local inhabitants, from Barú through to the Amazon, passing through the Caribbean and Pacific coasts, among many others. It tells the stories of people, plants and animals in different regions, generations and disciplines.
How it works
The public can book shifts with experts to have individual 30-minute conversations, or listen to the conversations of others via clandestine market radio. From 5 p.m. onwards you can book individual 30-minute shifts for dialogue with experts. This space will cost 1000 pesos (COP). A total of 156 talks will be offered during the night, with registration available until 9:30 p.m.
