Researchers from Universidad de Antioquia visited Peace Research Institute in Frankfurt
A group of twelve researchers from the Universidad de Antioquia based in Medellín, Colombia visited the Peace Research Institute Frankfurt (PRIF) on March 11, 2019.
The purpose of this visit was to learn about the research and the expertise developed in Germany related to historical memory and to open a space for academic exchange between Colombian and German colleagues. The meeting was co-organized by DW Akademie, as part of the “Hacemos Memoria” (We remember) project.
Dr. Jonas Wolff and Dr. Sabine Mannitz (PRIF); Susanne Buckley-Zistel (Philipps-Universität Marburg) and Pilar Mendoza (Goethe-Universität Frankfurt/Main) held the presentations.
The Colombian researchers work on an interdisciplinary project on the role of historical memory, communication, mass media and journalism in the process of understanding and overcoming the Colombian armed conflict.
The Leibniz Institute for Peace and Conflict Studies in Frankfurt (PRIF) is a founding member of the CAPAZ Institute and the Universidad de Antioquia is one of the ten associate members of CAPAZ.
